Born and raised in Southern California, I first experienced the film industry in front of the camera. Working with incredible photographers and directors across the US and Europe ignited a spark that led me to dump the engineering degree I was going for (what was I thinking?) and pursue a film degree at The Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California. I never looked back (my parents still have no idea what I do).
I pride myself on exposing life's beautifully awkward and imperfect reality. Finding the small nuances that make a moment unique, I’m more interested in the beat between the moments. The photo you don’t post because it’s not perfect, but in reality, it is more representative of your life and charming than a flawless one.
As a mom, pristine kitchens and immaculate homes seen in most advertisements don't represent who we are. They don't represent our lives as they are so ridiculously impossible to achieve. I love the mess of real life and I love bringing this to my films!
I'm fortunate to have production partners all over the world. You'll often find me shooting in Cape Town or Lisbon, LA or London, Mexico City or Bogota. The love a parent has for their child transcends time and culture. no matter where in the world you are.
You'll find me between LA and Toronto with my feature film director husband, 2 kids, 2 dogs and a messy kitchen. The hamster finally kicked the bucket, and no, we are not getting a ferret no matter how many times I'm asked (hard pass).
